Episode 4 Show Notes

On todays episode I’m sharing with you an interview I did on Jen Caseys podcast: Social Media to Sales. We talk about all things Pinterest Marketing! I share it all, including some of my top secret strategies that have helped my Pinterest account reach over 1M viewers every single month! Here we go!

Takeaways From This Episode You Won’t Want to Miss:

  • Pinterest created almost ALL of my regular traffic on my blog.
  • Repurpose your content! Save everything and repurpose. There are so many ways to use one post to reuse and get more traffic.
  • Pinterest posts should be long skinny images, text thats big and easy to read, a good quality picture, and a juicy headline.
  • Always give a call to action in pin description: “Repin and come get my freebie…”
  • No one sees your stuff if you don’t add keywords and longtail keywords.
  • Sometimes using low searches keywords (between 10-1000) allows you to DOMINATE that search.
  • Pinterest is NOT just for recipes and home decor.
  • From one tribe on Tailwind Tribe I reached over 2M people!
  • Make your Pinterest boards appeal to your ideal client. Clean up your boards or make them secret so that your audience only sees the content that will add value to them.
  • Create 5-10 boards on a new account that will serve your ideal audience. Have your profile loaded with quality content so when someone goes to your profile they have things to look at that suit them. This will create more visibility and traffic. Pin it back to your blog or wherever you want traffic.
  • Pin often! 20-30 times a day.
  • Community is a huge aspect of Pinterest. You need other community and to share other peoples stuff to build yourself.
  • If you just do the pinning, and don’t have something on the other end to lead people to like a blog or website, you are going to miss so many potential customers.
  • Repurposing makes it possible to be active on all platforms of social media daily.

Episode 3 Podcast Notes

In today’s episode, I’m interviewing my good friend and rocking girl boss Megan Yelaney Bayen. Meg’s mission is to help female entrepreneurs embrace their #prettyawkward selves so that they can be FULLY present and have FUN while stepping OUT of their comfort zone and into their highest self in order to create the 6 figure biz that they are passionate about. She does this through private business, health and lifestyle coaching practices as well as providing support through her online courses and mastermind group.

Takeaways

  • Starting a business doesn’t have to be perceived as just wanting to make more money. Sometimes it’s the desire to make an impact in peoples lives.
  • People often have “imposter syndrome”. They get comfortable and complacent in their jobs. When they start to branch out they feel out of place and think they’re not qualified. “Who am I to charge this much?” Should never be a question you ask yourself. The ones who pay more view your value, and you are worth so much to them. Don’t undercharge. You have to charge what you’re worth. You show up differently when you charge the higher price point.
  • Invest in something that scares you.
  • Trigam healing money meditation (30 min meditations) is a guiding voice that walks you through meditation asking questions to inspire you. When you make the money, how it will impact you, the world, people around you? It makes you focused on the good the service and money can do. Megan backs it by saying she was confident in her coaching and knew she could help people.
  • Having a morning routine is so important. It was the catalyst for her business growth. Put a plan in place to get you up and going.
  • Focus on your breathing a few min throughout the day.
  • Starting over from scratch is hard in anything, but especially when it comes to starting a business. However, if you feel stuck, you need to let go and make the changes to help you start living your best life. You have to have failures to have ups as an entrepreneur.
  • Having multiple streams of income in a business is SUPER important.
  • Habit and goal setting is so important. It keeps you motivated. Be sure to check out Megan’s new 2 part course “Ditch the Diet- Habit hacking your mind and body” to learn more about it!

Episode 2 Show Notes

In this episode, I’m answering your #AskRachel questions! I’ll be covering everything from my secret about creating killer content and building your brand via Pinterest, to organization and increasing subscribers. Lets dive in!

Takeaways From This Episode You Won’t Want to Miss:

  • When it comes to creating content, I’m always asking my audience what they want to see from me: questions they have, blog ideas, etc. I’ll post them all into a Trello card, and go back to it on my content creation days. This way I don’t forget any ideas I’ve had throughout the week, or content my audience has asked for.
  • I always repurpose my content. Every blog post I write turns into a live stream, YouTube video, Facebook post, or quotes for Pinterest. It’s super important to use your blog posts and redesign it for as many platforms as you can.
  • When taking photos- be the image of your brand.  Think about how you want people to feel when they see your brand…that’s what you should have with you in your photoshoot.
  • Create content that performs best for your brand. Make it eye-catching for YOUR targeted audience. It has to be helpful to them.
  • Do your keyword research on Pinterest, and that will help you to be found.
  • Create an opt-in form on your blog or website with a good call to action. This will help you gain their name and email so you can stay in touch, and hopefully, sell them your course or product through your new contact with them.
  • Add value. Know who your ideal client is, and be a resource for them. Respond to everyone, and make it about community.

Episode 1 Show Notes

In this episode, you’ll get to know about me. Who I am, where I was in my moments of weakness, and why I decided to turn my life around by starting my own biz.

I will give you some insight into the things that worked for me in my pursuit of being a female entrepreneur, and give you some tips on the platform that truly launched my success: Pinterest.

Takeaways From This Episode You Won’t Want to Miss:

  • Who am I?
  • Even with my masters in social work, a few years back the only job I could find was cleaning workout equipment for minimum wage. I really felt like I was letting myself and my family down. That’s when I decided to make a change. I wanted to start my own business and be the #girlboss I knew was in me. Pinterest changed my life. I went from making minimizing wage to six figures within 2 years.
  • I originally started the success of my business with Facebook and Instagram (70k followers combined!) When things started to change on these two platforms, I began adding my content to Pinterest. Before I knew it, my blog was exploding from Pinterest.
  • I love working with women who feel like they are made for more. Maybe they are just lost on strategies, not sure how to move forward. I am their go-to person to help them get it out. From the experiences I’ve had, that is such a rewarding feeling. If I can do it- so can you.
  • Pinterest gets you leads and sales on autopilot. Things I posted 2-3 years ago are still bringing me leads and sales. Instagram and FB posts are gone within 24 hours, buried in peoples feeds. Pinterest is a search engine.

Highlights From This Episode:

  • Who am I? (1:15)
  • How I started my own business. (1:55)
  • What will my Podcasts consist of? (5:16)
  • Why should you be on Pinterest? (6:10)
  • The biggest myths about Pinterest. (7:25)
  • Three Tips and a Bonus when it comes to Pinning. (10:51)
