Episode 31 Show Notes

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link on this blog. I would never recommend a product I don’t use or love myself!

Today I wanted to share about my experience at Tony Robbins Wealth Mastery Event! I am going to get pretty vulnerable, and have so much to share with you. I learned so much and wanted you to be able to have the opportunity to learn and reflect on it all too!

Takeaways:

  • Tony has really changed my life and my mindset.
  • The best place to start is Tony’s book “Unshakeable”
  • We are all so busy! When was the last time you actually sat down and thought? It seems silly to schedule time to think, but it’s so important. As yourself a question, and implement time to think on it.
  • You need to be setting goals for yourself. Write them out! And get in a peak state- which is jumping around, dance, and get high energy! Stand up when writing your goals, and get hyped!
  • Limiting Beliefs about money: It will all go away. Who am I to have this success? What are they? BULLSHIT.
  • You need to figure out what your TRUTH is. What’s my truth?
    • I am a child of God.
    • God has a plan and a purpose for my life. I am resourceful and can do anything I set my mind to.
    • I surround myself with people who are smarter than me.
    • All I need is within me now.
    • I continue to invest in myself and my education.
    • I lead with integrity and always aim to provide value
    • I’m smart and think strategically
    • I follow my gut
  • Keith Cunningham shares that if you make more than $30,000 you’re earning more than 1/10 of 1% of the world’s population
  • 6 Big Investing Mistakes when Starting a Business

1. Mistake #1 Obsessed with the product. They think  if the product is good enough, they’ll make money.

2. Mistake #2: Speed

3. Mistake #3: Irrational Optimism

4. Mistake #4: No 2nd idea

5. Mistake #5: Operating Skill

6. Mistake #6: Unwilling to pay the price

  • Finances don’t define wealth. If you’re healthy, and happy, aren’t you rich?
  • Core Biz Beliefs:
    1. There’s no such thing as a natural biz owner, you must educate yourself
    2. Pin the tail on the donkey is the silliest way to become successful (get mentors)
    3. Don’t run the wrong direction enthusiastically
    4. In order to do better, you’ve gotta get better. If nothing changes, nothing changes
    5. People with great lives have lots of choices

Thinking questions:

  • How would I run my business if all of my future growth was by referral only?
  • What don’t I see?
  • How could I serve my people so well they’ll never leave?
  • What skill am I missing?
  • Where have we tolerated mediocrity or lowered our standards?
  • Why do customers buy from us? Why is this strength not sufficient to dominate the competition?
  • What might be the obstacle in the way?
  • Why isn’t my business two times bigger than it is?
  • How big would your business be if you retained all the customers who ever worked with you? RETENTION.
  • Who do I want to buy from me?
  • What must happen to cause them to buy?
  • What could cause them not to buy?

Highlights:

  • (1:43) What is Wealth Mastery?
  • (3:50) Learning about business, and the power of setting aside time to think.
  • (5:10) Some examples of questions you should SCHEDULE to ask yourself.

My Top Four 1 Year Goals:

Goal #1: Million Dollar Business in 2019 (or more!)

Why: It means I’ve added massive value to my audience, it’ll allow me to fund more charities, have more money to invest and build a house for Rose

Goal #2: House in Senegal for Rose

Why: She needs a place of her own to thrive, it’ll make my hubby happy, we can turn it into a rental property and another revenue stream

Goal #3: Investments earn $1,000 per month or more

Why: It’ll take pressure off of me and the business, it’ll mean I’m intentional about investing and growing more revenue streams

Goal #4: Donate $50,000 or more in 2019

Why: We’ll be able to glorify God, make an even bigger impact on the world. I’ll be living my purpose and mission and it’ll inspire others to give back

Quotes:

Progress is what makes you happy, not achieving the goal.

It’s what you learn after you know everything that really counts.

You’re not wealthy until you switch from getting to giving.

Your decisions, not your conditions determine your financial destiny.

Problems are really gifts.

Positive energy is infectious. Negative energy is even more infectious.

Commit to collecting more hearts, not just things because relationships bring true wealth

When you’re in a powerful state, it impacts your story. When you’re in a state of scarcity, no strategies work

5 Easy Ways to Come Up With Binge-Worthy Blog Content to Increase Conversions

5 Easy Ways to Come Up With Binge-Worthy Blog Content to Increase Conversions

Hey hey! Welcome to the blog. One of the questions I get asked most often is: How do I come up with blog content? And do it consistently?

Such a good question! And when I was getting started with my blog, I felt stuck too. What should I write about!? I don’t have anything special to say!

I’ve def been there, so I really want to break down how you can come up with great blog content that adds massive value to your audience.

In this post, I want to share 5 easy ways to come up with binge-worth blog content…and not just any kind of content! The kind that builds a rapport with your audience and leads to sales.

Blog Content Tip #1: Ask your audience

I’m a firm believer that you must ask your people what they need and do it often. Market research is crucial for creating stellar blog content, monetizing your blog, and creating courses that sell.

Questions you can ask:

  • What are your current goals?
  • Why is this important to you?
  • What’s holding you back from achieving them?
  • What are you struggling with right now?
  • What topics would you like to see me cover?
  • What do you think you need to learn to move forward in your business?
  • What would you love to learn when it comes to (insert topic)

When I was first starting this business, I got on the phone with my ideal clients and asked them how I could help them, where they felt stuck, and what their goals were.

Now I tend to do more Facebook polls, ask in my emails, and IG stories.

As soon as I get their feedback, I copy and paste it into a Trello board (you could use a Google doc or spreadsheet too). This way, whenever I’m feeling stuck for blog content ideas, I can open up my Trello board and voila! Tons of questions my audience has already asked me.

Blog Content Tip #2: Look at Answer the Public

Check out Answer the Public to see what questions people are actually asking when it relates to your topic.

Once you have an idea of what your people are struggling with, you can enter your topic into Answer the Public. This is such a cool website, and it will actually show you what people are searching for related to that topic.

Right away, you can have several questions you can answer when it comes to your topic.

Blog Content Tip #3: BuzzSumo

Another great resource when coming up with great blog content is BuzzSumo.

With Buzzsumo, you can search for your topics and see the most socially shared piece of blog content. This can give you some great ideas of what people in your niche have already written about that given topic. You can link to these sources in your own content to give your posts some credibility.

Personally, I like to use it for inspiration and to get my wheels turning. You can see how the most socially shared pieces of content were written, what made them stand out, and how they covered the content.

This is gold!

I highly suggest you bookmark these two sites so you can come back to them every time you write a new post.

Blog Content Tip #4: Create a Series

Start a blog post series of 3 -5 posts so people anticipate the next post.

This way, you have an entire month’s worth of content written (I suggest you blog once per week). What’s a topic that you know you could break up into several posts?

For example, one of my clients teaches women how to do Intermittent Fasting, so maybe she did a series on Intermittent Fasting, with general topics being:

  1. What is intermittent fasting and how can it help?
  2. What are different intermittent fasting schedules to follow?
  3. What are common mistakes most people make when fasting?
  4. Intermittent fasting and working out: how to make it work
  5. What supplements to use when fasting

Brainstorm a topic that you know you can dive into and break up into 3-5 different posts.

Blog Content Tip #5: Massive Brain Dump

Sometimes I just need to brainstorm it allll out so my ideas aren’t stuck in my head. Grab a sheet of paper and answer the following questions to help you brainstorm…

1. What do your clients need to hear?

2. What kind of questions are you asked about most often?

3. What sort of content can you create that is shareable?

4. How can you add massive value to your audience and teach them something? You know stuff!!

Bonus Blog Content Tip: Step AWAY from the computer and go for a walk/workout/have fun!

I get some of my best blog content ideas when I’m moving and off of my computer. Make sure you’re taking some time for yourself each day to be out in nature and unplugged, even if it’s just for 20 minutes. Promise, this works! You can still have your phone with you so you can make voice notes of ideas you have.

I think a lot of times we feel totally stuck because our brains are always consuming other people’s content. It’s truly when you can step back and unplug that the ideas start flowing.

I hope this helps you get your brain ‘unstuck’ so you can come up with more awesome blog content ideas.

Remember: YOU have a voice, you have something special that can add massive value to others. Your content is how you can reach others and make a massive impact.

Take action! I want you to schedule some ‘off the grid’ time so you can get your creative juices flowing, and answer the questions in tip #5.

Episode 28 Show Notes

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link on this blog. I would never recommend a product I don’t use or love myself!

Today is an episode of #AskRachel! I’m answering questions all about opt ins, strategies, how Pinterest can grow your business, and get free advertising! Hope you enjoy!

Takeaways:

  • You can totally have one Pinterest account, and simply make the boards that are personal ones (recipes, fashion etc) private!
  • Pinterest IS free advertising. One of my students, Kenal, paid over 2,000 on Facebook ads to get traffic to his art, and he ended up getting WAY more traffic for free from using Pinterest, and the conversion rates of customers was higher coming from Pinterest too!
  • Search YOUR NICHE! This will help you find your best boards for Pinterest with your ideal clients.
  • Unless you’re completely changing your brand, maybe it’s best to keep your current blog. If your ideal client doesn’t change, you don’t need to start all over. If it does change, you might want to start from scratch on your content.
  • Online courses is the BEST way to monetize your business.
  • People want to work with YOU. Be sure you’re branding yourself.
  • It takes people a while to actually buy your product. What I always suggest is to create CONTENT about whatever you’re selling. That way you can link your pins to this blog post where they can learn more about you, before they buy.
  • If you send people directly to a sales page, and they’re not ready to buy, they’ll just go right back to Pinterest and click out of your website.
  • Start using Tailwind Tribes right away! You can always schedule more later as you make the content, but don’t wait. It’s better to start small and grow to more.

Highlights:

  • (1:38) Is it better to have personal related boards along with your business ones, or to keep them separate?
  • (2:22) When trying to get in front of as many eyes as possibly, how important is paid advertising vs. free advertising?
  • (4:11) Where is the best place to find group boards for your business?
  • (5:02) If you’re changing directions for your blog, is it better to start a brand new blog and hone your niche, or do you just switch your current blog to better fit your content? Micro shift, or brand new blog?
  • (7:31) Should you make a personal website or keep your company website?
  • (8:40) Is it better to post pins linked to your products, or to your blog?
  • (10:14) How many pins to the original content should you have before you use Tailwind?
  • (10:49) How can you draw in people to your blog instead of straight to a lead page?

Quotes:

“You don’t have to do paid advertising to get results”

“You want to brand YOU”

How Entrepreneurs Can Create a Standout Personal Brand (with Brand Strategist, Isabelle Mercier Turcotte): Episode 026

How Entrepreneurs Can Create a Standout Personal Brand (with Brand Strategist, Isabelle Mercier Turcotte): Episode 026

Episode 26 Show Notes

*This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link on this blog. I would never recommend a product I don’t use or love myself!

Today I’m interviewing Isabelle Mercier, she is the co founder and CEO of Leap Zone Strategies, and host of Leap TV. Isabelle Mercier-Turcotte is a ‘no-nonsense’ dynamo, born to catapult passionate entrepreneurs to build infectious and impactful brands, businesses and lives. As one of North America’s Top Small Business Influencers; best-selling author, TEDx speaker with more than 1.6 Million views, and TV show host, Isabelle’s sole purpose is to empower ONE Million Entrepreneurs to rock their businesses and lives into shape by creating a worldwide “My Life, My Biz, My Way” Movement.

Takeaways:

  • Sometimes the universe works in mysterious ways. Isabelle talks about how she was supposed to be a dancer, and because of her injury she was never able to get back to it. She then went on to study something else which led her to the love of her life, and started her on this course correction to her successful career path.
  • The key to be strong in business is consuming versus creating. People who are successful and people who are not have only one difference, their level of discipline. When you live in creating mode, theres more joy and more fulfillment.
  • The key to branding is to differentiate yourself. You want to leave people knowing what your mission is.
  • Think of how you want people to feel when they see your brand. Isabelle says to get a mentor that knows about what you want your brand to be. You want to look under the hood of what your genius is, and of who you are”
  • Isabelle had turned down the TEDX invitation to talk. She eventually agreed to do it, but talked about how she was nervous, and didn’t want to mess up in front of an audience. Everyone has holdups like this- but it’s when you let go of those holdups that you grow the most.
  • If you want your business to thrive as much as the people you are helping, you need to give it that attention!
  • You need to give as much attention to yourself as your clients.
  • Momentum. Isabelle talks about how important this is. If someone feels activated, that means they will feel empowered to create exactly what they want.
  • You can’t be everyones cup of tea- you need to be exactly who you are and you will attract who you’re meant to work with. If you try to impress everyone, you will loose your genuine tribe.

Highlights:

  • (2:25) A little more about Isabelle.
  • (3:18) How did she get started in the industry?
  • (6:02) The biggest lesson she has learned so far.
  • (7:30) Consuming vs. Creating: What mode do you want to live in?
  • (9:50) Isabelle talks about her Build to Rock program: how to set yourself up for success YOUR way. Not stuck in other peoples mold.
  • (10:45) Branding: Her keys to doing it correctly, and why it is SO important?
  • (12:20) What is your Genius? What is your Promise?
  • (13:40) Isabelle talks about how she built a 7 figure business without a website!
  • (16:50) Brand Promise: how to categorize what you want your brand to promise to people?
  • (17:50) How did Isabelle land a spot on the TEDX Stage?
  • (18:30) Isabelle shares how loosing her train of thought in her TEDX speech ended up being a huge ah-ha moment in her life.
  • (21:23) What does the preparation for TEDX look like?
  • (22:06) Leap TV: What is it, and how does Isabelle use it to teach people to build a brand?
  • (24:42) Isabelle talks about how you need to set up your business for success, and you need to learn to wear many hats, and some of those have to be for yourself.
  • (26:36) Business coaches: Why you need one (or three like Isabelle)
  • (27:42) What made Isabelle decide to go from an offline business, to online?
  • (29:31) Isabelle talks about what team look like, and the importance of people in your business that you can trust.
  • (32:00) What does it mean to Isabelle to make a difference?
  • (35:05) What sets her apart?
  • (36:24) What’s next for Isabelle Mercier?
  • (37:21) How and where to connect with Isabelle!

Quotes:

“There are two things in this life: the pain of discipline, and the pain of regret”

“The key to branding is understanding your mission”

“Understanding the key ingredients of your brand, what your brand stands for, that is what dictates what your look and feel is going to be”

“I built a 7 figure business without a website”

“When you’re in the frame you can’t see the picture”

“You gotta treat yourself like your own best client”

“In order to make a difference, you’ve gotta make a stand”
